![]() ![]() Weapon Aptitude: can swap feats that apply to single weapons for other weapons (change Weapon Focus (Greatsword) to Weapon Focus (spear) or something) And there's always Leap Attack and Shock Trooper. ![]() Levels in Psionic Warrior are better than Fighter, and Fighters can get Martial Study and Martial Stance as bonus feats. If not, then all's well if it will, well you can help him out with builds or point him to some Handbooks. If you're worried about outshining the fighter, you should note if this would be a problem in-game (will it make the game less fun for him?). One more thing: an Elven Warblade can be an interesting build because it gives you access to the Eternal Blade prestige class, one of the more powerful ones in Tome of Battle. You may not want to do this if you're going to play an elf, or plan on increasing your Strength. The reason for this is that bonus hit points from Constitution increases are retroactive, while skill points are not. In fact, I'd recommend putting the 17 in Strength, the 16 in Intelligence, and the 15 in Constitution then using your free ability increase at 4th level to bump up your Constitution. Intelligence is a useful ability for the Warblade's class features (bonus to Reflex saves, rolls made to confirm critical hits, melee damage rolls on flat-footed/flanked opponents, etc). I'd also recommend putting a high score in Intelligence. For example, a 6th level Swordsage/2nd level Monk has an Initiator Level of 7. Basically, Eternal Wands have 2 charges which restore every day.įor Initiator levels, martial adept classes count as full progression, while all other classes count as half progression. They're arcane spells only, but cure spells are on the Bard list. When you can afford them, Eternal Wands (Magic Item Compendium) are more cost-efficient in the long run. You might want to check out this thread if you need additional help for your Warblade.Īs for healing concerns, I'd recommend advising the rest of the party to take some Healing Belts as well. If you don't have Drow of the Underdark, get Bracers of Blinding Strike or a secondary weapon with the Warning property (both in Magic Item Compendium). If you don't have the Player's Guide, I'd get a weapon with the spell-storing property and have a spellcaster put Dispel Magic into it. Third Eye Clarity can negate negative status ailments (may be redundant with Iron Heart Surge, though), while the Ring of Anticipation lets you roll all initiative checks TWICE. Granted a lot of them are expensive, but you'd probably want to look into these items when you can afford them and have the sourcebooks: Third Eye Clarity (3,000 gp, Magic Item Compendium), Ring of Anticipation (6,000 gp, Drow of the Underdark), and the Spellblade weapon enhancement (6,000 gp, Player's Guide to Faerun, recommend adding Dispel Magic to it). This thread has a great list of magic items to help increase character effectiveness and survival rate. I'd also recommend buying a Healing Belt as well.Īlso, assuming your DM is going by Wealth-by-Level Guidelines, your character should have 5,400 gold pieces. If you have access to the Magic Item Compendium, the Tunic of Steady Spellcasting can grant a +5 bonus to all Concentration checks (not just ones for spellcasting). Moment of Perfect Mind is indefensible for your build to avoid enchantment spells and the like, while Emerald Razor allows you to easily hit heavily-armored opponents.Īdditionally, you'll want to find ways to boost your Concentration check to make up for your Will Save. Iron Heart Surge is an amazing ability in that it allows you to recover from all sorts of negative conditions, while White Raven Tactics allow your allies to act again in combat. At 6th level, take the feat Martial Study (White Raven Tactics). I'd recommend taking Moment of Perfect Mind, Douse the Flames, and Emerald Razor, and Wall of Blades. I'd take Adaptive Style so you can swap out abilities, and Power Attack (which stacks nicely with Emerald Razor).Īs a 4th level Warblade, you know 5 Maneuvers. ![]() I'd recommend being a Human for the bonus feat. What are the character roles of the rest of the party?Īlso, what sourcebooks do you have access to? ![]()
